About the Shark Observation Network
The Shark Observation Network is a partnership of the Greenland Shark and Elasmobranch Education and Research Group (GEERG) and the BIOAPP.
Jeffrey J. Gallant, M.Sc. Director, Shark Observation Network Greenland Shark and Elasmobranch Education and Research Group (GEERG) Quebec Shark Observatory EMAIL: firstname.lastname@example.org
The mission of GEERG is to study the Greenland shark and other northern shark species in their natural environment. The results of our work are made available to the general public, in particular to academic institutions, schools and museums. Sharks are crucial to the world ocean's equilibrium. Unfortunately, poor research funding, overfishing, and the overall negative public perception on sharks, are leading to their ultimate demise with tragic effects on the environment. With your help, GEERG aims to help reverse this trend in Canada and abroad. www.geerg.ca
About the BIOAPP
The Shark Observation Network's WEB site is powered by the BIOAPP.
The BIOAPP is a web application designed for institutions, researchers, collectivities or individuals who:
Need to collect data for one or many animal or plant species;
Want to educate people about one or many species;
Want to facilitate communication between people sharing a common interest for one or many species.
All this in a stimulating environment where members can easily add detailed observations, share knowledge and insights and learn from a rich and dynamic content. www.bioapp.net
